Help with small block Chevy engine identification??

So I am back from winter work and start working on my truck... lo an behold the block is cracked!

I found this block with a date code * 8 2 2 *
I believe this means 8th month, 2 day & 1972?

The other code is * V0204TDJ *
I believe this means ~
V = Flint Engine Plant
02 = February
04 = Day of Month
T = Truck

What does DJ mean?

Thanks for the help! Martin

I still am a bit confused... Does that mean GM did keep track of what blocks went to 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive? (I have been told they did not keep track...)

If I am to read http://www.nastyz28.com/spmenu.html correctly a suffix of TDR ~ 1972 TDR 350 conv. cab, a/t 175 4 K-10 & 20 would be the proper original engine for a 4 wheel drive K-20.

Comments?

Thank you Dan... That web page is most helpful. Now I am wondering how important it is to have a block from a 4 WD going back into a "Restore Original" project. ?

Per a GM Mechanical manual I have it shows for 1972:
TDJ as 350 = 4bbl, 175 hp @ 4000 / 290 ft lbs @ 2400, 8.5:1
4.000" Bore x 3.480" Stroke
w/ Auto
TFD,TFJ, TDJ, TDR, TRL, TLX, TFB, TDY, TRG are also shown with the Auto.
w/Manual = TBL, TFH, TDD, TDG, TRK, TRH, TLD, TLW, TFA, TDW,and TRD
w/ Manual w/LPG = TDH
w/ Auto w/LPG = TDK
