Hey guys i need some help.

I have a 1970 blazer, and the at some point in its life it lost all of the hardware for the back hatch. i am requesting any and all pictures i can get of the hardware for the top back hatch. This includes striker plates, handle assembly, where the rods go out of the top and where they connect and if there is anything else i am thinking of. any piece of metal that is on the hatch basically or that has to do with the hatch that is on the top. I would really appreciate it. i am trying to buy different pieces and put it back together so that i can secure my blazer, and so the hatch doesnt flap around when i go over every bump. i appreciate it.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

If you do a search for "hatch hardware", you'll get several pics and even for sale threads.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

i appreciate that suggestion, however i have already done that and i havent seen half of the hatch parts. all i am asking is that if someoen has a complete hatch with parts that they take pictures and post them for me.
i am a little surprised that no one has requested this yet as so many people do seem to be missing hatch pieces. mine has basically none so i need to know wheree everything mounts and goes and what it should look like finished product. i thank anyone in advance for their help.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

Unfortunately, mine is completely assembled and hanging from the roof of the garage. Brother's sells a replacement handle - but that is about all that is available repop. You could probably post a "wanted to buy" thread and see if anyone has a trashed hatch. Frank (PICKMUP) down in olympia still deals in used parts and there is a board member in Portland that does too (board name is something like Classic Trucks - but he posts on Craigslist regularly in the parts section). Check with both of them to see if they have any of the parts you're looking for.

If you decide to post a want to buy thread, you will need to be a subscriber first. Then you will need to post it in the WTB or parts area. See my signature below for more info.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

well i found some parts on evil bay but i want to make sure that i install them in the right places and i want to be sure that there arent other pieces that i am missing and dont know about. I may have to get a factory assembly manual that may be an excellent idea. Where can i find one?

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

A couple of things I just picked up off of e-bay. Pair of hatch striker and topper retaining plates.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

The "other" things bolt on to the top with the strikers. They hang down below the lower edge of the top, just inside the rear hatch. On your Blazer tub, if you look at the top of where the rear post is (just inside the tailgate) there is a threaded insert. This is where the other end of those brackets bolt to. Hope this helps. If you want pictures I could probably post some tomorrow. Good luck.

Re: Hey guys i need some help.

I would love pictures. I have nothing at all on my hatch and do not really know where everything goes or what to even look for. I would appreciate it.
