Re: classic heart beat LED lights

I have a set of clear lenses, you could send those led's to me then I'll send you an evaluation in how they look

They light up red so clear lenses would make them look better IMO, a couple of member here have them, their names escape my mind at the moment.

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

There was some quality control issues early on, they stopped production and now they should be all sorted out and working fine. From what I have seen, they are the absolute best ones on the market today. They light up in red, and are SUPER bright.
If you have the money to spend, they are top notch.

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

I didnt get them yet

Just thinking about it. I didnt want to get them if they lit up clear but since they dont, i dont have that to worry about any more.. I found clear tail light lens's for pretty cheap shipped like $24. I'll have to see what classic heart beat and some other sponsors have to offer.

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

I have had them now for about 4 years or so they are very bright. I couldn't be happier. The only thing I know is I had to clean my socket's really good and even put some small peices of metal inside the socket to hold them tight. I wouldn't take anything for them. I also have the clear lens too.

I thought there were some modifications (very minor) that need to be made to get the LEDs to work with the blinkers.

LED's are the way to go. You need an electronic flasher. Soon my truck will have over 700 individual led's from front to back. My tail lights have 648 in them. Here is a pic of my truck showing the difference between a regular bulb and an explosion of light!
Actually I just remembered why this pic was stitched together. The right side was the led's in running light mode and the left side was hitting the brakes.

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

An electronic flasher is needed, and can be purchased at NAPA, or probably any of the chain stores.
The old ones (metal can looking ones) need an amp draw to work, electronic ones do not. And since LEDs draw mili-amps...they won't blink at all on the old standard flasher.

Yeah try that with out giving a year make and model. I needed one before and just ended up living with the ricy fast blinkers. I did find one online but was to cheap/broke to spend $50 on a flasher.

Sorry Rant over

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

That's why i recomend NAPA, just tell them you need a 2 prong electronic flasher, and if the guy can't help you, go to the guy to his left or to his right.

I can get you a P/N if your napa guy is a tool.

Re: classic heart beat LED lights

I got the whole setup for mine from ece. The flasher pops right in and they work great. 4 bucks more than the one you linked there tho. These are definetly a cool mod! http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog.aspx
