Still want it. Is it impossible to think this could be shipped cross-country?

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
I'm mostly concerned with how it would be handled and having it arrive w/o damage. What about the whole truck? Is that a consideration? Non-operable vehicles are a specialized shipment as well, but far more feasible I would think. This type bed was never offered back east. I remember these from my time in CA and my K2500 is a white unrestored CA truck. I wondered if you ever sold it, never forgot you had it. Just seemed far fetched, but I'd like to at least check into all possibilities. I had been willing to settle for a long Stepside w/bins, but so far no success there, either. I'm a utility body kinda guy who has been w/o for far too long. Let's see what we can do. I'll take it and pay right away. But, I feel I need to work out getting it out of there first. That's the only reason I didn't buy it when you first posted it. But, I kinda forgot bout it. I don't screw people around.

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
Tim, you might consider posting an ad for somone going east with an empty trailer.
Too late now, but, my uncle came from California to here with an emty trailer a while back. I'm sure someone else will be in the same situation at some point. Just a thought. Larry

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
We used to have a "Transportation Board". I wonder where I should post a thread, General Discussion? I know shipping to, say, Indianapolis is way cheaper for freight. Not just the shorter distance, but it actually costs more per mile to the east. I would drive to the Mississippi or a bit more (Arkansas). i;m serious. One of my personal mottos: If there's a wheel there's a way

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
K, believe it or not, a trip to Frederick is brewing, and I will be dragging an empty trailer going east. The details are not worked our yet, but i couldn't believe it when they asked me in the office if I wanted to take a road trip to Fredrick, MD.
They mostly find me places to go so they won't have to listen to me gripe.

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
Larry, if nothing else we'll have to get together. I'm sending a PM to ask if I can buy the whole (what's left of) truck. I think that would be best, if doable. Then, it's how to get it to Arkansas

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
Anybody headed to Chicago? I'd love to have it on my 71 C20. If you were closer I'd pull the bed off of mine & road trip to pick it up. Always wanted a utility bed.

I'm still waiting for a response. Sent PM,too. If someone could haul it to Chicago, that's not too far from Larry. That would be great!

Tim, If you could get it as far as my place I have plenty of room to store it until you could come and get it, or find someone going East from here.... I'm only 7 miles south of I-80. LockDoc .

If I had a truck to put it on, it would already be mine . The ultimate tool box.

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
Chevy2tom, the only thing is I'm ahead of you. No hard feelings, just saying. As I said, still waiting for a response from the seller. Your "if" is the same as my "if" and "if" it could get that far east I have a way to get it the rest of the way.
Leon, that is a greatly appreciated offer. Great timing, too. I just bought a dozen old partial trucks I am having hauled three at a time on a flatbed semi, from Nebraska ASAP. All I need is your address so I can get this thing rollin' Scott, don't buy any more trucks! mmm-k? I am hoping to either buy the whole truck, if available, buy another running one out there and mount to ship, or fly out, buy a '90s truck (I also kinda need), rent a u-Haul trailer, and bring that puppy home

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
For shipping try the links I provided. I used to own one of these and this is exactly the kind of freight we looked for!! The firs one is the guy I worked with. His name is Gary.

Re: Utility/Mechanics Bed 8' "Harbor" low profile
Ok, sorry for being MIA, work has consumed me for the last two weeks. The utility Box is still available, the original frame etc is long gone from this particular truck, but, we could work something out in putting it onto a rolling frame. If you want to work on the logistics I am more than willing to get it set for it to be easily shipped/transported. My zip is 92508. Could maybe have it cráter and ship vía a freight company, I have done this recently with a cab and front clip and this would Actually be easier to "crate" and take to the freight company. Lmk
