Window Problems

Replaced my power window motors and regulators on both doors this weekend, windows go up and down quicker than before, but, windows won't stay in the front track, this would be the vent window lower extension, everything went back together as before but the window keeps jumping out in the front i'm stumped as everthing is bolted back together properly, new weatherstriping was replaced also but they don't look like the problem. any ideas??

Re: Window Problems

Thinking back when I changed my window motor....it seems the only thing that might keep the window in the forward track would be the roller that fits in the track on the inside side of the door shell. I dont remember any adjustment in the regulator itself or adjustment in how it mounts either.

Re: Window Problems

I am pretty sure you can move the bottom section of the rear track forward to fight this.

Re: Window Problems

I just replaced the regulator and motor on my passenger side and it's doing the same thing. Mine looks like the rear track is pulling the window out of the front track toward the inside of the truck. I haven't had a chance to look at the drivers side yet to see if I have anyting tweaked on that side. Hope some one lets you know how to fix it I would like to know also! LEt me know if you get it figured out...I will do the same.

Mine also dosen't go up and down very good. I haven't replaced any of the seals or anything though. I'll be looking into doing the relay mod I think.

Good luck!!!

Re: Window Problems

Make sure the bolt for the rear track is actually in the correct hole in the door.

Re: Window Problems

there should be some ajustment in the motor mount bolts to door
slight but it's there,
seen the wrong ajustments leave cracks, open at the top when the window is closed
i'd check the play there

I second this one, when the body shop painted my truck, they install both rear mounts in the wrong hole in the back side of the door. Moved to the right hole and all works great now.

Re: Window Problems

Anyone have a pic of the correct hole? I know my rear mount for the track had a couple washers to adjust it away from the inside of the door some.

@PAWS 72 - What wires do you need the color to?
