Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Very nice, I like the Orange/White trucks, but this one looks sweet in solid Orange with the Parchment interior. I like how GMC's list the color as Orange, never knew that.
I remember the Orange GMC that board member UNCLE had, that was a nice truck too.

as far as I know, UNCLE still has Orange Bomb sitting in his garage and it is STILL for sale...I got to see it last spring, he fired it up for us and pulled it out. THAT is a nice truck-

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
I thought Sierra Grande was YE9 just like Cheyenne Super. Looks real to me. I don't know enough about the GMC grilles to comment.

I do not believe the 350 had dual exhaust and was that low to ground .

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
I guess I'm missing the point here. Did these trucks come with those wheels?

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Sierra Grande was YE9. See Photo. Also the SPID's in later years are covered in clear plastic (looks reflective).

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
I like it lowered down like that, great stance. I'm pretty sure I had a sierra grande that I parted with YE9 code, I'll have to see if I can find my therad. Duals were probably added. And I'm with you Dan on the grill, I've never noticed much difference between 69-72 grills except for some black paint

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Seen them both ways!! The Z84's (not z17) seem to be on 1972 SPIDs and I can't tell what year the YE9 SPID is.
SWEET TRUCK!! You did know it is a GMC right?

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Nice truck, the label looks good to me. I have original labels from 72 with YE9, or Z84 listed for Sierra Grande. Earlier Sierra Grande's commonly use Z17.

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
68, 69, 70 GMC grills are flush and not painted down the center bar / band of the grill...71 and 72 are indented and painted black down the center bar / band of the grill. This is a very suttle difference but noticable to a person who has looked high and low for a 1970 OE replacement...the 71 and 72's seem to be much more common, I had to settle for a grill off a 71, so now my eye automatically goes to the grill. Maybe whoever buys this truck will trade me!

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Maybe I'm new to the world of bidding on vehicles on ebay. But why bid now and keep driving the price up? Why not watch it and bid late?

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
This auction has a reserve price - a minimum price that the truck must meet or the owner won't sell. You bid what you would pay and hope that the reserve is reasonable. After the reserve is met, your reasoning applies.

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
That is without a doubt one of the nicest SPID's I've ever seen. I'd buy that truck all day long at the current bid ($13,600), but I bet the reserve price starts with a "2".

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
10-4... that makes sense. So if by chance the truck never hits the reserve... can the last person to "win" the auction try and make a deal with the owner?

Re: GMC Lovers Check This Out!!!!!!
Per ebay rules, you're not supposed to make deals "offline", but it happens all the time. Anyone can make a deal, and sometimes even before the auction is over. A disadvantage to offline deals is there is no ebay arbitration when things go wrong, i.e. material misrepresentation or fraud.
