Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
Wow! I've got a real hodge podge of pics this round guys! So let's get going!
I stopped by a guy's shop that I know today to see if he could point me in the drirection of any old cars for sale and saw he'd been working on his old pickup. I don't remember the year but I think it's a 69 or 70 model that he has owned for years. He wasn't there but one of the guys in the shop said that he had been up til one in the morning getting it running. Some kinda line going to where the fuel pump used to be. I know absolutely squat about turbos and the trucks owner wasn't in the shop. So if any of you can make any sense out of all of this feel free to share your thoughts with the rest of us! I'll be going back down there on Monday so maybe I can get some more pics and a ride! |

Re: Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
I also went to a cruise in that was all but rained out! Couldn't have been more than a handful of cars there but I did see a new Challenger up close and personal!
It belonged to the balding gentleman leaning on the trunk. I was going to ask him to open it up so I could get some pics of the interior, but he constantly had people talking to him about the car. I did notice that the speedo read 180mph! Anyone care to guess how many of these we'll be seeing on the street? I know I really dug the new Mustangs when they first came out but now they're everywhere. Also spotted this cool old pickup. |

Re: Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
One of my buds had started partyin a lil early today and knew he shouldn't be driving and asked if I wanted to roll his rat to the cruise. Of course I obliged! His car probably drew more attention than anything there except for the new Challenger! The question we kept getting was "what is that?!". Any of you guys care to guess?
( Yes that's me on wheel duty) Shout out to Brian for shooting these next two pics for us! Yep............We're in Georgia! Possibly the wrong kind of attention? |

Re: Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
I do like that Challenger, but you're right.... everyone and their brother are gonna own one.
That sled OTH is the sweetest thing I've seen in a while. I don't know enough about those old cars to even guess what it is. But I love the rear window and the truck latch handle! That thing is just sweet. Got lots of attitude in all the right places if u ask me! OH and btw, I was drinking some OJ when I read the caption about being in Georgia and then looked at the pic. Let's just say I almost had OJ all over my keyboard! LOL

He wasn't in any trouble unless it was with his wife! I had actually called him at home to see if he wanted to go and he told me that he couldn't unless I drove. So apparently he's smarter than a lot of people out there!

Re: Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
$3.89 a gallon for gas and the fact that Christy would have wanted to eat at Red Lobster while we were down there! I saved at least $125 by staying in Lafayette. Not to mention all the cars that were for sale down there last month were all priced at twice what they were worth. I guess they were working on the theory of they really didn't want to sell em so they priced em high.

nice turbo set up! Couldn't see the wastegate in the pics but I'm sure he has it tucked away in there somewhere. Love to see that truck on the road!

Re: Sat pics (6-21) A turbo project, a new Challenger, and guess the Rat Rod!
Lotta guesses on it being an old mopar. Hard to be positive which one though...the roof line does give away its heritage. Not my style, but to each his own. That "style" of ride does get a lot of attention.
Gas is only 3.89? Closer to 4.50 here. Continued craziness. Last edited by CG; 06-22-2008 at 11:21 AM. |
