cheap gas filler hole cover!
I have been driving around with a sticker over the whole for a while, I was going to try to find a factory gas tank delete cover but never got around to it. Anyway I was at Home Depot the other day some sprinkler parts for the lawn and i saw these pipe test covers ( I'm not a plumber but I guess it's used to block of lines and test for pressure and leaks) They were cheap so i bought the 2 1/2" and the 3" one for a test fit. Well the 3" one fit perfect. It's basically a rubber seal sandwiched between 2 large washers with a bolt going through the middle connected by a wingnut, tighten the wingnut the rubber expands causing the seal. Simple, cheap, easy and waterproof! One of the first things I did when I got the truck was move the tank, in my opinion it's one of the best mod's you can do to these trucks. It's not the best looking fix but it's only temporary.

I know the picture sucks, thats why I tried to explain how it looks. How come when I take a picture with my good digi I can't post it? It says the file is to large, can I shrink it?

You have to downgrade the quality of the pic when you take it. I have the same problem. In order to send pics I've taken that are too large, I email them to myself and the program automatically makes the file size smaller, then I save to a pics to email folder and go from there. Give it a try! Good idea by the way! I call em J-plugs, don't know why really?

You just missed out. I sold a stock fuel tank delete plate on the parts board last night.

I saw that. That's actually what gave me the idea for the post. If it was permanent i'd go for the factory cover, but I've been saving for a plasma cutter and welder, so when I get them the whole is gone.
