350 stock 2 barrel to 4 barrel conversion

Hi guys just curious. What would be involved besides swapping the intake on a 2 barrel to 4 barrel carb swap?

Intake gaskets, Dist. gasket, 4BBL Carb, Carb gasket to Manifold, 4BBL linkage bracket, If your carb is Quadrajet you should all the clips cable balls. If it's Edelbrock or Holley you will need clips and balls to mount linkage. And you all ready said the Intake Manifold. Sealer bolts that go in the water passages

Hi There..... as long as the 4 BBL intake you want to use is from the same "era".... no problem. They early intakes had the oil fill tube on the intake, later had on the valve cover. I don't think you will be happy putting the 4 BBL on a 2 BBL engine. The 4 BBL engines don't only have the carb, but have heads and camshaft to handle the extra fuel, and create more power.

As above but you may need a new air cleaner as well. When I did this on a 79 camaro years ago, 4bbl air cleaners could be had for a trip to the junk yard and a few cents. Now, they are a bit hard to find. Or in my case, borrowed from a dead 68 Impala along with the intake manifold.

If you haven't bought the carb yet, and you're going to make this swap, get the carb with the smallest cfm rating---- it will work a lot better with your engine.
Large flowing carbs usually won't do well on stock or mildly modified engines because the engine won't draw enough air through the carb to get a proper air/fuel ratio.
