blazer/suburban gas tanks.

i have a question. which year gas tanks from suburbans and blazer will fit our trucks? i'm looking to do the gas tank relocation. i was in a junkyard awhile back and noticed a few suburbans, with gas tanks, i think.. they looked complete anyway. what would i have to do to get it to work and would it be mickey mouse rigged? pro's/cons. any input is more than welcome and appreciated.

Hi, I have put tanks from 67-72 blazer & subs with very little mods. You can contact Fat Fender Chevy Truck Parts at www.fatfenderchevy.com They have these kits in stock

Re: blazer/suburban gas tanks.

My truck has a 1965 suburban tank in it. Bolted right in with no mods.

Look for suburban (1961-1972), panel (1961-1970) or blazer (1969-1972)....

ok, thanks, i didn't know if the later more plentiful 'burb/blazer tanks would work. i guess they won't fit.

Re: blazer/suburban gas tanks.

What about the tanks from the chevy Vans, you know up to around 1978 or so? Has anyone ever used these?

hmmmmmm.....i'm thinkin' now. next time i go to the 'yard i'll do some measuring. i saw a few vans out there. i'm doing this on a budget. can't decide if it will be more to go and buy a tank and have it lined or go buy a new tank.

Re: blazer/suburban gas tanks.

Do some measuring. My tank came out of a 85 Blazer and my frame is a 77. Not sure there is a difference in the frames.
