Delta Flow 40 Series
This has probably been discussed a thousand times but I was wondering what everyone thought of the 40 series delta flow.
I currently have the 50 series delta flows and really like the sound but would like something a tad louder. thanks |

I've got a pair on my '72. 350 with headers, 2.5" duals, and turndowns infront of the rear axle. Sounds pretty good, i like it. Fairly quiet under light thorttle and at idle but gets really loud when you open it up. I ran them w/o any turndowns for a long time and it sounded really, really mean, but was a bit loud and got on my nerves eventually. I'd defenitly reccomend them.

i have the same setup minus the turndowns, and the mufflers are the regular 40's not the delta flows. i am pleased with them, although i could go for something louder.

I just had my girlfriend run my truck up and down the street. I know I know i shouldnt let her run around unmonitored but I had to listen to the exhaust.
I really like how the 50 series delta flow sounds but its just to quiet. It has a nice deep performance sound. Does anybody know if the 40 series delta flow is a similiar sound just louder? I wish the flowmaster page had better sound clips. They should put the different mufflers on the exact same vehicle without any cats on it. That'd be a lot better way to compare them. |

when i get some more money i plan on running 40 series but not the delta series.... somewere i read that it is only supposed to reduce interior noise, but since my truck rattles and makes enough noises i really dont care about an extra one. plus my dad has dual 40's on his lt1 station wagon and it sounds real nice.
Dion: nice truck sounds real nice!!! but your cam doesnt sound radical enough for the street....... maybe you need a little more overlap Rat

Aw come on only a block?...lol. I have to have one of my buds drive my truck once, but I'm sure its a ways. 2 1/2 and 12 inch glasspacks run out in front the rear tires.
