Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I have an old Cooper Super Traction 12-16.5 mud tire on one of those wheels, it's too bad they don't make 'em anymore. Here's a pic of a 33-12.5-16.5 Mudking on a stock 16.5x9.75 GM wheel that's on my truck. I think it's the same size as the 12-16.5 tire that I have for a spare. For the record that's an old pic and the wheel is now painted.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
Yes,mine rub a bit w/stock 4wd suspension.May be good with 8.25" rims.The blue & white truck has 285/75x16s on 8x16s.They`re knobby ol`SuperSwampers and the truck is stock.They rub sometimes,too.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I had to put spacers in the rear coils on mine to lift the rear up so they wouldn't rub when I haul my welding stuff, but when I didn't haul anything they fit OK.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I used to run 33 x 12.5 x 16.5's on 9.75 in wide rims without a problem on a '72 2wd 3/4 t. OK...it would rub in front every now and then at full lock on an aggressive turn.
I now have 31 x 10.5 x 16.5's on the front and 33 x 12.5 x 16.5's on the rear of my '68 on 8.25-in. rims. I am going to 33 x 12.5 x 16.5's on 9.75 wide rims all around. It should work fine. I still have to check the front for clearance however. The Ansen slots are 9.75 rims with 33 x 12.5's just what you are asking about and I intend to mount them up and try them as soon as I get some suitable lug nuts!

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I ran 9.75x16.5 Slots w/12.50s rear and 8.25x16.5 slots w/9.50s front on my totally original`71 CustomCamper/20(leaf) for 15 years,never rubbed.I hauled a 10' camper on it,dropped about an inch,no rubbing.Tires were Dunlop Radial Rover A/Ps.If I could e-mail them to someone,I have pictures(prints).Lookes real good,just right.I could still get my hands on these if you`re interested.I`d dismount rhe rubber,same tires I bought in`88,

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
man, i'd really like to run these 9.75's that i've got. i really thought the 33-12.50-16.5's would rub badly, esp on the front.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
You could bring the front end up a bit.I`ve seen guys run them.I do`nt go for alot of lift on my 4wds.I`m used to being careful and keeping rubbing to a minimum. The ones I`ve built for serious off road,I`ve cut fenders. The body`s going to get messed up anyway.I don`t need 36" of travel.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
72army...they are! Aren't they pretty? I intend to find two more of the 9.75 x 16.5's and run them on my Longhorn. The 8.25's my go on my Longhorn trailer...LOL! I missed two 9.75" wheels last weekend for $40!!!!!!!!!! I am still grieving!
I intend to have 4 sets of wheels for my two Longhorns as follows: Stock 16.5 split rims (have all four) 9.75 x 16.5 steel wheels with hubcap clips (have two, need two) 9.75 x 16.5 Ansen slots (have two, need two) 8.25 x 16.5 steel wheels (have all four) Can't have too many sets of wheels!

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I had to refresh my memory on this one so I got the lug nuts today and mounted the 33 x 12.5 x 16.5 on 9.75 rim on the front. Here it is and it clears with no problems lock to lock it has an inch or two clearance but then I did not try to jump anything. This is a 2wd 3/4 t. '68 Longhorn.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
Thanks...it really gives it the "period" look. I can't wait to get some new sheet metal and paint on the truck. JAKES...I will probably have a set of 8.25's for sale by next summer.
Pics were loading slow so I left one off...maybe I will have to leave those wheels on now...LOL!

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
stllookin, that looks awesome! I'll have to see if the 33's will fit on the front of mine, are you using stock springs or BB springs? I have a set from a 1 ton truck I'm going to install if the stock ones dont' work.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
Mine are stock small block springs and they seem to work fine. I was considering raising the front of my truck slightly to achieve a level ride when I am finished with it and big block springs might be the answer...but I guess I could always lower the rear slightly. Some guys like the slight rake but I really prefer the level look. Those tires do fill the wheel well nicely!

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
The 33's bearly fit on my truck, guess the springs are shot. I'll have to get the 1 ton springs installed later on and see how much of a difference those make.

Re: 16.5x9.75 with 12-16.5lt pics?
I have 4 good 33 x 12.5 x 16.5 tires (mismatched) but Discount Tire (Texas warehouse) has them for $125/each. That is a pretty sweet deal...I might have to spring for those now that I think I have located two more wheels for the Longhorn!
