Anybody coming to KS from Chicago?

I bought a basket case 6 cylinder engine just off I90 near Rolling Meadows IL and I was wondering if anyone was coming down from Chicago to anywhere near Topeka or Kansas City anytime soon. Anytime in the next month would be great.
Mods, not sure where to put this, move it if need be to where appropriate.
Thank you,

Jeff

Re: Anybody coming to KS from Chicago?

I own a motorcoach company in Gurnee, Il and I'm about 30 minutes from your 6 banger. We usually don't have too many trips headed your way, but I'll take a look when I get to work in the morning and see if we have anything going that direction. Is it in pieces? I can also help you out if you need to get it out of wherever it's at now... picked up, stored, packing up for a shipper. Anything you need, just let me know.

Re: Anybody coming to KS from Chicago?

Thanks for replying 1949gmc, I may take you up on the offer to pick it up from the seller. The engine is an original 1936 chevy engine and it's in pieces and is not complete. I am mainly after the block but it includes the head, oil pan, 4 rods/pistons and a few other pieces and bolts. If you or anyone else is coming accross I-80 sometime in the near future we could meet in Omaha. The fellow I bought said he could store it for awhile but you know how it is, I would like to get it back here.

Re: Anybody coming to KS from Chicago?

Well, I just checked and I don't have anything going west through the end of January. I'd still be more than happy to help in any way. I thought that shipping it thru Greyhound might be an option, but I just checked prices with them and they want a minimum of $230.

Let me know if I can do anything for ya.
