Hood Ornament

Hey everyone, I have been doing some searching lately and I'm trying to find a hood ornament. My truck had one on it that had the square GMC emblem. I have found a few like it, but none for sale. I don't necessarily want the same emblem, but I can't find a good place to buy any Hood ornaments are they just not being sold anymore.

Does anyone know of anyplace I can find Hood Ornaments.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hood Ornament

The 1st generation Monte Carlos had a real nice small ornament that alot of guys were putting on these trucks in the later`80s and early`90s in the S/E.It says "Chevrolet" in script.Sorry,no GMC Monte Carlos. The truck parts vendors were selling them for,like,80 bucks back then.I got one at the dealer for,like,$15.I still have it in the box.

Re: Hood Ornament

What year truck you wanting to put it on? I have few lying arround. Post a pic. of what you are looking for.

Also.........as SPECIAL K mentioned......the best looking ornament for the 67-72 is the 71-72 Monte Carlo hood ornament. It looks great on these trucks. I have them on all my "nice" 67-72's. They normally run $80 to $100 for a good one. The last one I bought I found it on Ebay cheap...like $25 and it was never used still in the GM boxes...you will need the "ornament" and the "spear"
The ornament says Chevrolet in script. I will try to get a picture and post it in a bit.

Re: Hood Ornament

That emblem is off of a 71 Monte Carlo. I have seen it in the Harmons for sale and it is on My Mother N Laws 1971 Monte that she bought back in 71. Still looks good on the truck. Sweet pictures. I would consider this for my 70 Chevy.

I was in the Navy with a guy from Sac City Iowa. I said...Where is Sac City Iowa. He said right down the road from Storm Lake. So I looked it up in my Rand McNally 1979 Road Atlas. No I know where both of the are.

He was the son a pig farmer. Jerry I think was his name.

LOL that might be appropriate, since my nickname around here is MadDog. Is that off of a Mack Truck?
