tilt column not tilting
Anyone have any ideas on why a tilt would not tilt.. its stuck in the lowest position for some reason. I'm prepared to tear it apart if necessary. Just gottas browse up on how ...LOL. Rod

I had that happen a few years back on a 72 Highlander I had and I removed the wheel, spraied "brake clean" down the shaft. almost 1/2 a can. Then it actually freed up everything. Then I hit it with wd-40 and it was good as new. Im not sure if it was the same problem as yours, but it worked for me and it worked great. I felt I had nothing to loose as I was ready to pull the complete thing apart anyway so I went for it!

I lubed it up today but got impatient and took it apart anyway... and it works now... it was just loaded with debris and rust. Rod
