Smile Hello from Germany/ ´68 C10

Hi,

my name is Reiner, i´m 29 and come from Braunschweig in Germany.

I have 1968 C10 Fleetside Shortbox. My father bought this in 1988 in Kansas and export it here to Germany.
Then i got the car to my 18 th birthday...

It has a 307 engine with 3-Speed on column, 12 Bolt rear axle and 8x15 / 10x15 Keystone Raider with 275/60 tires.
I was very happy as i´ve found this board, because i hope to find friendly people and some good adresses/ parts/ infos for my baby.
Now it need some work at the body under the doors (little rost), the suspension is bad and old and so on.

So i´ve something to do for the next Winter...

Best regards

Reiner

Reiner welcome to the forum. I'll assume since you originally posted this in the picture forum you intended to add some pics with it. Since it doesn't have any pics yet I'm going to send it to the 67-72 forum for now...

Reiner, Welcome from Seattle, WA. You are going to find lots of help on this site. Congratulations on getting the '68...it is one of the best years. I spent quite a bit of time traveling and working in Germany. I loved the Octoberfest in Stuttgart...what fun! I have been to Hannover but not sure I ever recall going to Braunschweig. It is a lovely country you live in...just not enough '67-'72 pickups! Take care of that truck and let us know if you need any help. Post some pics!

Welcome from liverpool Pennsylvania. How bad are the rocker panels(under the doors). Do you have a welder to put the panels in? Are the floor pans intact or do they need patched also? More info!!!!! or pictures.

Hello at all,

thank you for welcome. My english is not very good, but i hope, that you can understand my postings...
The next workshops in the wintertime will be some parts at the body, a new lower suspension (springs, shocks, spindles, balljoints...) can you give me some infos for this?

Also i need new wheels and tires, my favorite are nearly the same design, but min. 18´´...

And an new exhaust straight to the back, with red glass-packs and supertrapp mufflers at the end...

I love this truck, because it was my first car. It was a present from my father to my 18th birthday and for my driving-license...

The Photos are not perfect, but i think it works...

Great looking truck you have there. Welcome from Arkansas. That air cleaner you have on there is a fire waiting to happen. I would change that out before you have a carb backfire. Don't worry about your english, mine is pretty bad sometimes too.

Welcome to the board Reiner. You have found the best source for info/parts/cool people. If I'm not mistaken, you are our only member from Germany...only active one anyways. I was actually born there. Up north in Bremenhaven. (I think that's the spelling) We moved out weeks before my 2nd birthday, so I only remmeber a couple images, and they were probably placed in my mind from photos or something.
So what are some of the specs on your ride? That is a weet lookin rig there.
You HAVE to get us one of these pics since you have the autobahn and can do it legally.

How fast you had your truck up to out there? (I had mine to the M on MPH...but I have no proof other than my soiled clothing. )
Anyways, welcome to the forums, you'll learn lots and find great deals on the parts board.

Oh, BTW...I second the statement on the air filter. All it takes is the smallest of back fires and the foam (which has tons of fuel vapors in it) will ignite and ruin your day.

Don't ask me how I know.

I know the problem! It happens as i checked the ignition timing, i stroke at the throttle and.... whoooop
Now i have a normal round chrome Paper cleaner...

Its very nice here with the autobahn, 10 Km from my location is an straight about 15 km long part from our autobahn, the truck runs a little part over 120 mls at the speedometer, some people are scared over this..., and i need the hole lane from the autobahn...
