C20 lowered pictures

Looking for pictures of lowered C20 that are still C20's with 8 bolt wheels.

GMC Paul says he has sold many of the C20 lowering spring kits to members and I would like to see pictures.

I would really appreciate before and after pictures as well as details on how much the truck was lowered and how.

And yes I have searched for lowering of C20's but have found very little information.

Considering lowering my 68 C20..........

Re: C20 lowered pictures

I've decided to keep mine stock, but maybe this thread will change my mind.

Do you have leaf springs in the rear?

Re: C20 lowered pictures

Coils seems much easier to do. Are you concerned about ride quality with the drop? I definitely think these trucks looks nicer when they are level. This means wheels and tires also?

Re: C20 lowered pictures

here are some pictures of mine. I lowered it the cheap way, cut coils in front and pulled 4 leaves in back. This combo got me down 3" in front and 4" in rear. I still can haul with it but anything over a ton in the bed and I'm on the bumpstops (most I've hauled since drop is 3500#'s of gravel). More details here.

BEFORE (Sorry about the crappy pic, it was my cell phone but you get the idea.)

Re: C20 lowered pictures

Dont have any better pics right now since im deployed and its been 5 years since i messed with it but PO cut the coils in the front and i believe extended the hangers on the rear, i want to keep it 8 lug and bag it to lay frame, as of right now you put any weight in it and everytime you hit a bump it bottoms out

Re: C20 lowered pictures

Gofast68c20, hows the ride with coil rear compared to the leafsprings? I'm thinking of doing this as well. Thanks.

Re: C20 lowered pictures

Here is a pic of my recent purchase. Had the truck about a month or so. I am not sure how much it is dropped. I did find out today that I am riding on the rubber bumpstops up front, so I may cut them or remove them completely.

Oh yeah, coil suspension all around, and drop coils were used, as I was given the stock coils when I bought it.

Front Coils were cut (2 coils), which was too much, as I have about 1/2" inch of clearance right now. I think 1 coil would be better if you feel that you need to go that route.

Rear axle has been flipped on top of the springs.

Mine wasn't lowered, but leveled - I'm not sure how it was done but I liked the way it sat.

I'm still thinking about it, but it has leaf springs in the back and I want to eventually do airbags.

Anybody make bolt-in stuff to do some sort of 4 link setup or other setup to run airbags on this thing?

Fully optioned Sierra Grande for cheap with a straight body you can just spray for a lot cheaper than a shortbed will run...
