My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
This morning at about 2:30 a.m. I awoke to heavy smoke and a smoke detector going off. I woke up my girlfriend and then ran around the house waking up the other three people. Luckily we all got out safe but I wasn't able to save my six month old puppy. Our 2 year old dog did make it out though. The house is probably a total loss and my truck and three motorcycles melted to the ground. Looks like it stared at an electical socket in the garage with nothing plugged into it! I hope insurance will give me even half what my truck was worth so I can get started on a new one in a few months. I'll post pictures when I can, but like I said it's pretty much gone. I had just brought it down from my parents house last weekend. **** HAPPENS. Everyone check the batteries in your smoke detectors and install extra's if needed. They saved our lives.

Re: My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
Wonderful y'all are okay. Smoke detectors are a grand instrument, glad to hear they worked for you! I preach fire/life safety on a daily basis as part of my job. Everybody should check their detectors monthly & change batteries at least once a year. Teach your kids about them too!

Re: My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
Oh man, I sorry to hear about your fire. I hope all goes well with the insurance.
That has actually been one of my worries during my build. I have 15k in parts in the garage, some installed some not. If it burned I would not get paid back for all that... |

Re: My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
That is a terrible loss, I'm so glad you & your loved ones are okay, the lost puppy makes me sad, maybe post some pictures of what the truck looked like & those of us with any spare parts can offer up some of them to help you get another truck started? I know the insurance company is probably gonna screw you on a truck that old.

Re: My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
you saved the important things, everything else (other than the puppy) can be replaced. Stuff is replaceable, ppl aren't.
None the less, it is a total bummer on all your stuff being gone now. |

Re: My House Burnt Down With Truck In Garage!
Sorry to hear about your loss. Best to you and yours. This is going to prompt me to do something I thought about for a while. I will install a smoke detector in my garage this weekend.
