moulding on a 69

i have a 69 chevy with the skinny upper moulding and the wide lower moulding....has anybody ever tried to replace those with another kind of after market moulding of any kind?...if so,how did it look?....what did you use?....id like to get the OE but it shore is expensive....thanks

I don't know if anyone has ever done this, but I was wondering what the '88-'98 lower moulding would look like on one of our trucks. You could probably pick that up cheaper than the OEM original moulding. If you were looking for OEM stuff, try Mar-K...I know they started reprodceing the '67-'68 moulding, but I'm not for sure about the '69...hope this helps.

I always wanted to use flat polished stainless cut to the factory shape, pinstriped with black accents and double stick it on.

i saw a 72 4x4 shortbed hugger orange, it was pretty, it had the newer style molding on the bottom and boy i thought it looked really good.Just my thoughts
