Paint Code 561

New to the forum. I just bought my 1970 SWB. The paint code is 561 which I know is two tone medium/dark gold. I haven't been able to find pics of this color combo. Anybody got one or is this an unusual look?

Pretty sure I don't have a picture. It was as far as I know pretty uncommon. The actual color codes are a 527 Dark Gold Poly primary body color with a 526 Medium Gold Poly roof in the conventional two-tone scheme.

Re: Paint Code 561

Here is the only truck I could find on the forum. Don't know if it's original paint or not.

I don't know about the paint combo, but that white over blue over white 'burb in the background is my personal favorite! That's like MR Station Wagon.

That truck is all original paint. The location is a member's house in GA and the time was about '04. I came close to buying that one. Very very nice and unique while being all factory. That's my kind of custom!

Re: Paint Code 561

Gonna see if I can revive this old thread. Does anyone have pics of the 561 paint code?

Re: Paint Code 561

So, you want the Medium Gold with Dark Gold accent rather than the Dark Gold with Medium Gold accent, right? I'm not sure I have ever seen one. But that '70 shortbed in this thread is those two colors, although reversed. I hope someone does come up with what you want. I'd love to see that combo, too. You have a pretty unique truck

Re: Paint Code 561

That's my old truck. Never seen one with colors flipped and haven't seen many with the combo on Truck like I had.

Re: Paint Code 561

According to the chart posted earlier in this thread by SS_Tim it goes like this:

560 = Main body color (Med Gold) / Secondary color (Dark Gold)

561 = Main body color (Dark Gold) / Secondary color (Med Gold)

So, special-K, here is the only example of the 560 color code that I've ever come across. There are a few more pics on Dave Porter's Instagram (@cousindave_porterbuilt).

When I saw it I seriously considered painting my roof Dark Gold, although mine was originally a white top.

Re: Paint Code 561

I like. Honestly I don't see many of either color. Didn't think I'd like the flipped color but I was wrong.

Re: Paint Code 561

Thanks for the replies! My truck is a 561 like the one at the top. I bought mine a few years ago and still haven't got it ready to paint. (Getting Closer) I just wanted to see if there were any other pics of this rare code.
The one on this thread still seems to be the only thing I've seen.

Re: Paint Code 561

It’s definitely the only other one I’ve seen too. It seems pretty rare to see dark gold to begin with much less with a gold roof.

I’m fond of the dark gold because my first car was a 1974 Camaro in a very similar color.

Re: Paint Code 561

Both very nice and unique color schemes but I prefer the 560 paint combo.
