Re: New Truck

Here's the last of them. The last one isn't of the truck obviously but i thought I'd share anyway, it's the 2nd largest movable crane in the world it was here in town for a few months at the refinery.

Re: New Truck

I've read of people using dealer service manuals for these trucks. Does anyone know where might I be able to locate one?

Re: New Truck

Manuals come up from time to time on the parts board. You can post a wtb as well. Ebay is also a good source. Many aftermarket suppliers of parts for 67-72 have repro manuals. Check with site vendors.

What made the seller say it has a c20 rear axle? Does it have leaf springs? If so, that doesnt mean it is a 3/4 ton axle. 67-72 could be ordered either with coil or leaf springs. The leafs do give a little more carrying capacity, at the expense of ride quality.

Re: New Truck

Judging from your first photo, those sears look too tall for dactory buckets. How about a photo of the spid label on inside of glovebox?

Looks like a solid start for a project! Welcome to the site!

Re: New Truck

Wideside- I bought the truck from a friend and he was told the coil springs were off of a 3/4 ton... Im not sure if this is true but I aim to find out. The SPID sheet is not there.... I plan on taking the terrible seat covers off as the upholstry underneath seems good as far as I can tell, they may well not be original. I appreciate the info on the manuals btw.
Bomp- Thank you i appreciate it.

Re: New Truck

Any recommendations for the best place to get patch panels for the rust? Best as i can tell the only rust is on the underside of the driver door and the floor/ rocker panel underneath(it appears to have sat without a gasket at the bottom of the window allowing water into.the door) and the small hole on passenger door.

Re: New Truck

Looks good... I would go with Ebay for patch panels imo. If you want to stay more original theres always someone cutting up old cabs for patches.

Re: New Truck

Thanks guys I appreciate it. To give perspective on that crane i was 1-1.5 miles away at least. Wideside- the buckets do not appear to be factory. Will post a pic soon

Wideside72- Heres a few pics of the seats and where the back attaches to the bottom (to me it looks like they should fold but I'm not sure.)

Re: New Truck

They're comfortable and they will do for now at least, whats weird is when I pulled back some of the carpet at the edge of the door to get a better look at the rust the black carpet was put on top of some red carpet that looked to be in good shape, but I couldn't see alot of it.

Re: New Truck

I've bought patch panels from LMC.
Have heard panels from Top Banana are great.
Original sheet metal always seems to fit best.
