Bikini Top Idea
Well after completing the single wall top and a few short trips I still like the topless ride better. Like some of you here with bikini tops, I am concernd about all of the snap locations in the windshield frame. So with my double wall headed to the dump I thought cutting the header portion out to mount all of the snaps might be a option. I think there has been some discussion on this idea, has it been done? Chime in tell me what you think. My thought is cut along the smooth area and glass it closed with some sort of area to place snaps.

Re: Bikini Top Idea
Over 200 views of this post and no replies? Drilling for snaps is a common hurdle for a bikini top (or is it bimini like on a boat?) I know it's mine. I have always thought this was an obvious solution but never seen it done? Anyone?

Re: Bikini Top Idea
Its not a new idea by any means. Its been discussed many times over the years ever time a bikini top thread pops up. Just have not seen anybody actually follow through on the idea. It should work good. Post pics of the completed product on the Blazer.

Re: Bikini Top Idea
I have never considered using the fiberglass portion of the top like you have, but building a metal mounting bracket that would utilize the bolt holes along the windshield frame has crossed my mind. The bimini (or bikini) top would attach to the metal bracket

Re: Bikini Top Idea
I've spent this summer driving with the newly rebuilt top on and had planned to take measurements for a roll bar just have'nt done it yet. Looks like now I'll have to build a lift for the top before starting that project, but will post pics when started. Thanks for the input.

Re: Bikini Top Idea
I think the only interest here was my own, just didn't want to drill into windshield frame. Like others that project has been put on the shelf for now.
