I did a search on the site and got a few different answers. What is the correct tire size for a 68 1/2 ton with a v8?

I've got P235/75R15 GoodYear Wrangler A/T's on my 68 c10 1/2 ton w/ a I6

Go with what you like!
I'm fine with mine. They're not too small but not to big!

I believe the factory called for an 8.25-15 tire back then. Obviously, these days finding an equivalent tire might be a bit tricky. You could get close, but why on earth would you want to?

Me? I'm moving up in the world from a 205/70/15 to a 255/70/16. In other words, I'm gaining almost 3 inches of diameter. Funny, it doesn't sound like much, but when you get 'em on there, it's a huge difference.

Personally, I'm of the mindset that a truck should have a good sized wheel (16 is my favorite) and enough sidewall to make it look and perform like a truck should.

What does 8.25-15 = out to in 225 75 15 etc?

I think it's something like a 205/85/15. It's a pretty weird size no matter how you slice it.

Wow that is kinda wierd. That would be (guessing) about 25 26 inches tall and kinda skinny. I think I will got for Either 225/70/15 or 275/60/15.

Yeah, they were real tall and skinny. Oh, and I was wrong earlier. I won't gain 3 inches, I'll actually gain just a hair under 4 inches in total diameter when I swap my wheels and tires out tomorrow or Tuesday. Goodbye speedometer accuracy and hello highway speeds!

How tall will the tires be when your done? I have 31s on mine but if you measure them they are actually 28.5.

If you do the math, the tires I have are 26.3 inches tall and the new tires will be 30.06 inches tall. Now, if we assume that the tires will actually be shorter than the theoretical "perfect" diameter, then it's still safe to assume that I'll gain roughly 4 inches (+/- .50) when mounted.
