Should or Shouldn't (paint top white)?

Little pissed......found a few areas in the roof gutter (mainly the vertical part along the side glass) where some paint is lifting a little probably cuz of the seam sealer. Though not too bad and hardly noticeable, it will probably bug me enough to redo it.

Even before I painted it, I thought about doing the roof white cuz there's just something "55 chevy" about that look. So I did a quick Photo Shop of it.

Yeah or neah?

i like the white and also how the entire top part isn't white, just the top and back. that gives it a sweet custom unique look yet suttle. makes it look faster too

I like the white top a lot better. I think the white top makes it look more
classic IMO. Even ford trucks of this era look good with the white top.

Re: Should or Shouldn't (paint top white)?

I see this as a win win sitch...
Ya got paint issues on the roof, fix em and run the risk of a color mis match to the rest of the truck.
Or, fix all the issues with the roof as much as you want. Then paint it white and now worries of paint matching are gone, and you bring the already good lookin rig more original. Which IMO looks better...

Re: Should or Shouldn't (paint top white)?

With out reading any of this before hand I must go with my first impression, IMO if this were a stock looking truck, a white cab would be what I would wont but with that lowered ride hight and the type of rims you're runing I think a white cab looks a little off, with a stock ride hight and hub caps on steel rims (or some other type wheel in keeping with an earlier time) then the white cab would look better to my eye.

Re: Should or Shouldn't (paint top white)?

The white top lends a "stocker" look to a paint job.I like the look and it seems so "Chevy".But,solid paint lends to the "custom" look and makes the truck look lower/sleeker.I see why you asked.I`d have a tough time deciding.I`m leaning towards all blue since that`s how you built it.If i was going with the stocker look I would have done something with white somewhere alse on the truck.like tailgate letters or in the wheels. If you lived near the beach I`d say go white top.

x2 Stick with the blue as your truck is custom classic rather than stock classic.

The truck looks good buddy!

Re: Should or Shouldn't (paint top white)?

I love the two tone look. I'd paint the top white ang give it that classic styling. Not only that, but not having color matching issues would be a determining factor for me. I would also paint the A pillars and tops of the doors to go with it.

I usually dont like the white top at all, and i would go with a blue top, but that would look really good as you have it, with out the pillars

I would go with the white top personally, but it will look great either way. Here is mine, I just put rims/tires on it last night so stay tuned for updated pics.

It's nice to see another blue truck owner thinkin' about rockin' a white mohawk

I didn't want to do mine at first, but now I can't imagine it back all blue.
