1962 chassis with 1966 sheet metal

Hello,
I understand the differences in the frame rails, front suspension and X member, but will the cab, fenders, bed and bumpers of a 66 fit on a 62 torsion bar frame?

I believe they have different front cab mounts. Also the bumpers will fit but the holes won't line up. If you really wanted to make the later bumpers work on the early frame you could weld the old holes shut and drill new ones then use a file to make them square.

why would you want to do that
bumpers.cab and box mounting are different and the frame nbrs will not match the cab vin nbr so you will have that to deal with. there is also you will have a problem installing manual clutch linkage as 60-62 used hydr. linkage mounted on passenger side

It was just a thought. Not a very good one. Too many differences

Re: 1962 chassis with 1966 sheet metal

In the state of Idaho, having a frame and cab with different VIN's can be an issue unless you follow the state motor vehicle investigator's requirements. That can be both expensive and a pain in the butt.
