1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

I've been trying to do some research on this, but to no avail.

What are the correct wheelcovers or dog dish caps used on a 3/4 ton? More specifically, mine is a Camper Special so i'm wondering what would have come on it.

Photos would be helpful. Thanks!

The 3/4 ton would have dog dish caps. Heres a pic from the parts forum with some gmc caps. Welcome to the board.

Thanks John.

Would I have gotten the painted caps or the chrome? Or could it have been either?

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

For the record, I believe you could get full wheel covers for 3/4 ton trucks too. I have a pair of factory 15" full wheel covers with a 1" ring that snaps around them to put on a 16" wheel. I pulled them from a 3/4 ton in a junkyard years back. Trevor

That must have been an accessory ring or 16"wheels.The irst 16" factory wheelcovers were in`76,I believe.

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

Sorry...yes, I believe it is a Custom. I haven't picked the truck up yet and will know more later this week when I get it. For now, here's some pics. Will regular caps fit over those rear hubs?

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

That's not an original cap on there, heres a pic of my chevy 3/4 ton caps GMC would be the same just with the GMC logo instead of the bowtie. You can see they stick out a little more in the center for clearance on the back

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

I figured they weren't, Paul. Maybe they're MOPAR caps?

Now, would my caps be painted white like the ones you posted, or would they be chrome? Or could it be either?

Also, for the rear hubs, will regular caps fit over them? (sorry, I'm definitely new to trucks)

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

I bought a 3/4 ton roller and it had chrome dog dishes on it. It was a 69 custom just like yours. Is their also cloth interior in it?

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

Yep, mine apparently originally had Saddle Cloth interior. I don't think I'm going back to the Saddle interior/exterior, though. Think I might go with the bright blue interior to match the dash that's currently in there.

Re: 1969 GMC hubcaps & wheel covers

That`s a Dodge Trck hubcap.Yes,the original caps will fit on the rear.Your caps would be brightwork (chrome or stainless). You have the Custom Camper package, which is on top of what trim level it is.What does it say on the front fender badge under GMC in the rectangle? It either says the trim package name or V-Eight,V-six,etc. if it`s a base model.I can see it`s not a base truck, though. Is the seat cloth? Are the options still listed inside the glovebox door?

Yep, cloth interior. I don't have a good photo of the fender, so I can't tell what it says.

Sorry, this is the best photo I have of the glovebox ID.
