Post a pic of your barn find or old pick up when you first got it.

It was sitting in a paint and body storage lot. Here is a pic of the day I got it to the shop and the latest pic of it.

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
The day I got it home, rolled it off the trailer and downhill to park in front of my garage. Unfortunately, blew the seal on the break cylinder and lost all breaks. Before I figured to pull the emergency break, swerved to miss my garage and ran over my ramp. Missed all trees, the garage and the cliff 40 feet behind the garage. And thats how the rest of the build went.
Cleaned up. |

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
Not a chevy, but it did sit in a barn for 30 + years.
The third pic is just a truck that was for sale!

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
My nephew's truck I found for him. Had been in storage for over 15 years in Louisiana, then in Texas for about 5 years. The original owner past away and left it to his son who sold it to us for $4100. Very, very little rust. This is a pic of the day we looked at it and after a good buff job, a little rattle can paint on the rims and just cleaned up. Nice Highlander.

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
Here is the 69 Chevy truck...er...car...whatever I bought for my dad a few years ago. I bought it from the son-in-law of the guy that bought it in 69. It was parked in 1996. First 3 pics is how I found it in the garage in 2008, fourth is after I scrubbed on it a little bit and got it road worthy.

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
Sitting at the curb in Yonkers, NY the day I bought it - just like it did since it rolled out of the Tarrytown plant!
The only non-original part is the front bumper - lots of rust and bondo hiding under that paint

Re: Barn Find/rusty treasure
Thanks for the compliment.
I am keeping the name, however. It still fits: El Scorcho (see on the old one above the rear window)
