Probably pretty common. You're giving very little info. What are all the specifications? Pictures?

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
Yea I know most of the eighties trucks that was 1/2 tons came with the 305 motor. In 87 they offered the 350 motor. The truck is a short bed truck brown in color one owner with 70,000 original miles garage kept with the aluminum rally wheels. I have all the books and manuels with the truck. I feel really lucky in find a original truck in mint condition. I would post some pics but it tells me I need a security token?

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
I thought you could only get a 250/4.3/305 in the 81-87 half tons?

I thought that too. I have read that you could get the 350 in california only due to the emmisions of the 305 would not pass california emmisions standards. I have the original spid still attached to the inner fender that lists the motor as a 350 and the gas mileage window sticker with the vin # on it which states it as a 350. I would welcome any input. Thanks. 1978 CHEVROLET 3/4 1984 CHEVROLET 1/2 4X4 SHORTBED.

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
You could get the 350 in 4x4 (K10) models in the 81-86's. Just not the 2 wheel drives (C10).

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
Hmmmm...... Maybe things are different in Canada..... I had an 81 2WD with a factory 350. Also had an 86 1/2 t 2WD work truck that had a factory 350. In Canada, if you selected the 350 option, you could not get the 700R4 overdrive.
Guess GM thought it was too weak...... the 350 choice automatically came with the TH400. |

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
I'm willing to bet a low miles garage stored original truck is a rarity in itself, being as most trucks were used and abused.

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
Here are a few more pics of it. My plans are to keep it original and drive it on nice days. The truck barely has 70,000 miles and still feels new. Its a nice addition to my 78 3/4 ton Chevrolet. I have had it for eight moths now. I rotate the wheels from the rally wheels to the original factory aluminum wheels to give it a different look.

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
Thanks for the compliments. I just find myself wanting to keep cleaning every piece of it. The truck still has the original gm converter on the exhaust.

Re: 1984 silverado 4x4
That is as nice of an 87 as you will ever find. I definitely prefer the look with the rallys.
