tach wiring ??
on the back of the factory tach, there are two prongs for wires, one i am sure is for the ground, the other goes to the distributor, My question is which one goes where, or does it matter? for reference purposes lets refer to the the drivers side of the panel as you looking at it sitting in the truck, and the passenger side. other wise, post a pic possibly. thanks for the help HJ

One should go to the distributor and the other says 12V so it should plug to your fuse box. Then I don't know bout ground.

Here you go...
One to the coil, the other to IGN UNFUSED terminal on the fuse box. Everythign you see there that is metal is (supposed to be) a ground. If there is a bad ground, your dash lights won't work, nor your fuel guage, and your blinkers would do real funny things. |

HJAlbert,
I hooked mine up last night in the way that you mention. It matches the hand-held tach exactly up to 1500 RPMs. Then it seems to hit a brick wall. What has your experience been? Did this work for you? Perhaps my tach is bad. Brian |
