Door panel screw inserts

Could someone please send me a picture of the nylon inserts in the door of a 67-71 chevy that are used to attach the metal door panels
Thanks

Re: Door panel screw inserts

I'll have to take a look tomorrow, I'm pretty sure they're not nylon inserts.

Re: Door panel screw inserts

A couple of the metal inserts were missing when I first got my truck, so I got some nylon inserts popped them in and tapped them. Its quick and easy.

Re: Door panel screw inserts

Yeah, the square plastic license plate clips will fit fine and do well to work for that.

Use nutserts. They are permanent.

That's clever. I may have to look into them as I can't put my door panels on

Just like a pop rivet. Screw the nutsert onto the mandrel, insert it to the flange and squeeze the handle of the tool. Then just turn the mandrel to remove the tool. The result is a threaded hole in almost any size you choose. Just buy the correct nutsert for the thread size you need..
