Large gap at back of hood???
After I close my hood, the back of it sits too far up. I can push it down more on both back edges, but it sort of floats there and doesn't sit flush with the fenders.
Is this caused by weak springs or bad adjustment or...? I already bought new springs, what else should I be doing when I install them? Search didn't turn up anything for me.

Re: Large gap at back of hood???
Sounds like your hood hinges are wore out. You can make the fit better by adjusting the hinges to compensate for the slop, but IMO you're better off replacing them. My 2 cents.

Re: Large gap at back of hood???
loosen the hood hinges and push the hood as far up as you can then go ahead and tie the bolts while having someone hold the hood up it should make a big difference. This is what I did and it worked for me.

That's what I did too. Made it a lot better but not perfect. I guess it depends on how worn they are. Good luck.

Re: Large gap at back of hood???
LOL, one of the hinge arms is actually welded together (poorly). It must have rusted shut once upon a time and then snapped.
I'd like to do the same to the previous owner that mickey-moused this truck together. Last time I went to the junkyard, out of hundreds of trucks, there was only one 67-72. I wonder if it has good hinges on it...
