What is the significance of these numbers?

I originally thought these were some sort of salvage numbers, but I see them on the cowl of alot of peoples trucks on this site. Are they manufacture markings?

That may be a cool thing to do. Then regardless of the color I go with, it works.

they are factory numbers and most people would try to leave them its a step toward original

Have you seen this thing? I think those marking will be the only original things left by the time I'm am thru with this build. Check out the "Green Monster" build. I may put them back on it if it stays green and white.

That is the model number... not VIN.
We are looking at the firewall of a 1969, 2 wheel drive, 1/2 ton, LWB, fleetside truck with a V8
T4 could mean a million things from an assembly line worker's ID number, time code, even just a note meaning custom ordere truck.... anything you can think of, it COULD be.

Strange. It is titled as a 1972. All of the numbers match up, and the plates match the title. Are you sure it is a 1969 truck?

Chalk in wet paint from what I understand.
I've cleaned them off a firewall with degreasers and elbow grease

Re: What is the significance of these numbers?

I found the number 503 on the fire wall behind the motor after it was pulled It looks like it was in black felt marker and then painted over.I had know idea why it was there untill I looked at the paint code on the spid light green 503 I belive it was to let the painter know what cab was to be sprayed light green. The truck was built in Oshawa Ont Canada

Scared me for a moment. I thought I had a stoled truck. On the other hand, it would explain the bullet holes in the floor board.
