Brake booster on a 71
I was just looking at a 71' fleetside today with discs on the front. When I popped the hood I noticed there was NO booster. How is this possible?. The proportion vavlve was there attached to the master cylinder. Am I missing something or is there a such thing as Manual discs?

Yessir, there is such a thing. Booster = power brakes. The truck I got my front end from (also a 71) didn't have a booster either.

power brakes was always optional, on all trucks, J70,
on some C10 burbs of a couple of drum brake years the fronts were 11x 2.75" brakes |

HUH
Learn something new every day on this site. I though all 71 and 72 had power discs.

Does someone have a detailed picture of a booster installed on a 71. I'm getting ready to install one. Thanks

Power brakes were standard equipment in 1971 on 4x4's and 3/4 ton and up trucks. For regular 1/2 tons power brakes were an option, but were standard equipment on 4x4's.
