another disk swap problem

Last night we tried to connect the rear brake line to the proportioning valve. The line is the wrong size. Do I have to replace the entire line coming from the rear? If so can I find it pre bent? Or will I have to custom make a line?

To answer your question we need a lot more information first, we need to know what parts you are using all the way from the brake booster to the rear brake set up.

1970 c20 with drum brakes all the way around. 1972 c20 doner front end rebuilt and put on the 1970. So drum still on the back but 72 c20 front end on the front. Frankenbrakes!

If you used the 1972 brake booster and prop valve you need to order a 1971 front to rear brake line from www.inlinetube.com and you will be all set.
I would call Inline tube and tell them you need the 1971 rear brake line starting at the prop valve and ending at the rear suspension crossmember.

Ok, thank you. Thats progress. But what I need is the 72 right? Because its now a 72 front end. Everything, booster, prop valve, master, ball joints, tie rods, etc.

Lines are reversed on a 72 3/4 disc vs a 70 3/4 drum. Front port is rear wheels, rear port is front wheels. You need the right prop valve (not cheap) and master and all of that...

If you can buy one, you're doing better than me. Well, actually I did buy them, they just were completely wrong for a 3/4 ton even though listed as such. I think you'll be making your own.

I think I read your post about how unhappy you were with the first company you bought from. Classic tube is better right?

The reason you need a 1971 brake line is because you have a 1970 frame which is compatible with the 1967-71 brake line but not the 1972 brake line.
The 1972 brake line is routed completely different and connects to the intermediate rear crossmember instead of the suspension crossmember like it is from 1967-71.

If Inline tube doesn't carry the part just buy it from some place else.

bush it up put the right size bushing in the valve screw in the brake line

Just buy an adaptor. You need to know the thread size for each and get the correct adaptor.

Correct just buy the adapters. I just had to do this on my 71. The chrome master cylinder was all metric.
