New to this site.
Hello to all the great truck fans on this site.I live in the cold north (Canada) and joined to see what the rest of the world were doing with there trucks.
I built a 1969 GMC S.B 4x4 from a rusted out old truck,it was going to be a daily driver at first but after I got into it I saw how much work would be needed to just get it back on the road,so I decided to do it all the way,and not just a fast fix it and drive. It was totally stripped, all parts numbered and photographed, then it took me about 2 weeks to draw up a plan and then the rebuild started. I did all the work myself, but the paint and upholstery, all main parts were disassembled, like the 2 diffs rebuilt and painted, frame was sandblasted and painted then the diffs and springs put back on for the start of the reassembly.I went with a TH400 and a 400 sb.The cab and frame were all I used from the original truck, all the rest is new body panels, all the nuts and bolts are stainless, and lots of stainless and aluminum was used to dress it up.It took me a year to complete. This site was great for info while doing the build.I hope to see more of the great projects on this site in the future. Thanks MM |
