Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

I found this while cruisin for parts on my engine build. It's fully aluminum and 3 core, with an auxiliary trans cooler. All the aluminum radiators I've prices are 400-600 bucks so what gives? Is this too good to be true or what?

Thanks guys
Matt

Re: Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

Seems like a great deal. I bought my Champion radiator only because of a forum members review after he installed it. I didn't want to risk the radiator needing some fabricating of brackets and wanted to make sure I could use the new reproduction fan shroud I had bought. I bought a Champion 2 core for 67-72 Chevy trucks and I'm very happy with it.

I have a Champion in my Z06, and put one in my buddies 67 ford. No regrets, fit was fine.

Re: Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

Go with the Champion it's already been proven to work and fit correctly ! there only like $229.00 if I remember right ? is it worth your time and effort to not buy the one everyone says works for a few bucks more ? make sure whatever you buy has the Auto trans cooling mounts many lower cost radiators don't .

I also got the champion radiator and electric fans and shroud and you can't beat the price. All welded no epoxy. Excellent bang for your buck

Well I couldn't find ANY reviews other than this. Looks like it's rebuilt with not a lot of quality control. It's only one review, but even the yellow paper they sent him that asks about product and service was already filled out for him. It's tempting to chance it for the price, but I think I'll spend the extra 100 bucks and get the Champion 3 core aluminum

EDIT: I can't get the link to work. It's on YouTube under "EBay aluminum radiator fail" sorry guys I'm not computer savvy

Here is the Ebay item # - 252157843020

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252157843020...020%26_rdc%3D1

Several reviews of 3 row aluminum radiators from that seller within the past month. All positive except one that was damaged during shipping.

May pick one up for my '69 GTO for a spare. Know they are compatible because I installed one from my Pontiac stash in my '69 c10 a few months back.

I used a Champion CC369, 3 core all aluminum radiator. Fits great, cools great, looks great. Other members had positive reviews of the EC369, which is the 2 core equivalent, so that is why I bought it. $227 shipped to my door from Jegs. I plan on buying another one when the 68 needs a new radiator.

I just got the new Jegs flyer...The EC369 for 67-72 GM trucks w/28" core is listed for $175.99 w/ free shipping. Has anyone used this radiator & does it fit the stock rad. brackets top & bottom without modification ??
This is listed as a 2-core good for 400 HP.

I was able to reuse the standard brackets. The 4 core brackets were way to big for this 2 core Champion radiator. I just shaved the rubber cushions down a bit.

Your welcome. Yes this does have the ports on the passenger side of the radiator for the transmission lines. I'm eventually going to a 700R4, but have a 4 speed in my truck right now. Thank you for the compliment too.

Re: Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

I have an ebay special 2 row aluminum radiator in my rig. It's worked perfectly, even in stop and go traffic in 90 degree heat.

I did have to use 4 row top and bottom radiator brackets.

Thumbs up Re: Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

This is the one I bought! $155.00 free shipping!
It works good. I put in last summer with no problems at all.
They had been sold out of them and their E bay store was like $599.00 price but I just checked it and it's back to the regular price.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Alum radiator GREAT price, tell me what you think

I have one of those rads,or close to it lasted about 3 years before it started leaking, I also bought off of ebay, the leak started a day before I was going to crusing the coast, put some K seal in it and it's still good, I think the bottoms are alittle thin in the metal dept.
mine cost me $199
