1970 cst

Hi guys, I have to say this forum has been an outstanding help for my build, couldn't have done it without you!

Second, I'm looking at buying a 1970 3/4 ton 4x4 chevy cst for for its running gear. No engine, has 4 speed & transfer case. Its a deal at 500 bucks or 800 with engine

I haven't seen it yet so my question is, does that year have front disc brakes, power steering, power brakes, and the sm465/205 combo? Thanks

Re: 1970 cst

If original, it will have a 1 year only front end. Open knuckle-drum brake. The other questions can't be answered with out pics. It could have all or none.

Yeah, I cant get to it right now and see, then I could tell. The guy says he thinks they are disc brakes. I almost thought that some produced at the end of 1970 were switched over to disc brakes, anyone know?

Re: 1970 cst

thanks for the replys, my other question would be assuming it is an open knuckle drum set and the rest being true (power brake/ power steering?) , would i have issues with the brakes being too touchy when i swap my 72 gmc components onto the chassis? i heard that going from disc to drum can lock up easily because discs use so much more fluid. im not to familiar with the braking systems yet, but this seems like too good of a deal for me to pass up and I wonder if i could just live with it or upgrade down the road to discs
