Help. Rag joint removal and replacement 72 blazer

I'm a little intimidated by this job but it desperately needs done. Any and all advice or a walk through on how to do it would be highly appreciated

Are you looking to rebuild it or replace it? I rebuilt mine and it wasn't that bad. Replacing it is a piece of cake. One word of advice take the bolt that holds it to the box all the way off. It will hold the joint onto the shaft on the steering box even when it's loose. I couldn't see this because mine was in the truck. Be sure to get the right spline count as 4x4 is different than 2wd.

Yea the rebuild wasn't too bad. I think I had to grind the rivets if I remember right. It turned out good and I just bolted it together with the hardware it came with. Tightened up the steering a lot.

Thanks. Did you have to remove the shaft completely?

You just unbolt the two bolts on the steering shaft from the joint and there is one bolt that clamps the joint to the shaft on the steering box. The shaft has some slide adjustment so you just move it out of the way.
