Check out this craigslist ad

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/2933923902.html

I am not trying to pick this apart, but I do think it's a very well done scam.

Look at the two photos.
The topless has decent woodgrain trim, a rust hole in the front of the rocker, a large yellow inspection sticker in the lower driver's side corner of the windshield, blue lockouts, and California blue plates.
The top on photo has faded woodgrain trim, rust starting in the lower rear corner of the door, two smaller inspection stickers in the lower corner of the windshield, black/chrome lockouts, and plates that look white.
Maybe the photos were taken years apart, but it does look very suspicious. At the price I was actually going to do a call for help on the board to have someone close take a look for me, but I don't think I will waste my time nor someone else's with the "funny" photos.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

doesnt look like the seat covers are on it in the pic with the top on it, maybe the one pic is from when he bought it and the other is how it looks now.....maybe it was easier to use a older pic then to put the top on and take one.......or maybe........i couldnt think of anything else.

It's also possible that they just stole the pics instead of taking their own.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

Good eye. Those look like different trucks. Too many differences that clearly aren't from restoration.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

I'm just guessing I think the top one might be the actual truck and the bottom is a pic he found. Probably thought no one would notice the slight differences between them.

I think the first picture is when he first got it and the 2nd picture is now the first picture could be 5 years old.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

If someone lives in the area listed in the add, all they have to do is call and ask to view the truck in person. Then you'll know if it's legit or not.

If you get the run around about the truck being located several hundred miles away, run the other direction.

I think everyone on here has a truck/blazer/suburban that doesn't look like it did when they first bought it. And for many reasons. A simple phone call would clear anything up...with minimal effort.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

probably just wanted to show a picture of the truck with a top on without actually putting the top on haha. So he found a photo that was close that had the top on.

Different tires also. Could just be a few years apart on the pics, its worth a phone call anyway.

Re: Check out this craigslist ad

Here is my blazer. I bought it in Colorado in 2001. If the first picture appeared in a ad it was taken off this the board. I can assure you the 2 picture I have posted is not the same blazer as the one in the second picture above.
