1972 SWB ground up
I had a thread a while back but the pictures wasn't that great so here we go again with a new one and more progress. I started off with the 72 and used the cab off of that one, then I had to buy the 71 for the frame. Then comes the fun part tearing down the 71.

Now for some sand blasting, it gave that air compressor quite the work out and had to go buy a new one.

Put all new front end on it with a 2/4 drop with new shocks and coils, shocks are not on yet here.

I got the cab off of the 72 and decided to put a new floor in it instead of patching it. Alot of work but worth it.

Try and not to laugh at my welds, it was my first time but it turned out pretty good. I payed the body man $1800 to put in the cab corners, rockers, A pillars, B pillars, footwells and line up the doors. Money well spent!!!!!!!!

I got the drive shaft, tranny and motor in right before the snow started to fly. Should I use that spacer for the carb or not, will it clear the hood?

I got new bedsides, doors, fenders, tailgate and head gate for wood floor. Also got new inner fenders and cross sills and polished stainless strips. I'll wait until I'm ready to order the bed wood. I also got all of my lenses, bumper brackets and bolts. All I have to order now is front and rear bumper, wheel housings, outer grill, inner grill and then off to paint. The only things I am not replacing is the hood and cowl. I still have two trucks minus one cab that are in pieces I am going to sell, I will get pictures up soon when the weather clears up.

It's nice to see that everything is getting either replaced or renewed. This will be just like new when you are done.

My buddy told me to just buy one already done, but I decided to go this route. I have $11,000 without the cost of the two trucks in it. I'm figuring $20,000 by the time I'm done. But is it going to be worth that much after it's done?

No this is my first time, I got my bedsides, doors and fenders from Classic Industries. Tailgate from LMC, the rest of the body parts I got from Shermans.
