OER Windshield from Summit Racing?
Does anyone know much about these windshields? There's only 6 reviews on Summit, all are overwhelmingly positive. Concerned about quality and fit, and 6 reviews isn't much. Hoping a few more here have experience with these...
Thanks.

Re: OER Windshield from Summit Racing?
I have their OER-CT6772T in my truck and like it. Tint is correct (overall green AC tint, no band up top). I wound up having a pro finish the install because I couldn't get the stainless to sit right, but he didn't have any complaints.
No delamination or other concerns. Works for me! In general I've found it pretty safe to buy OER.

I will prolly have a pro install it as well, but I want a piece of glass that I know most are satisfied with, and not just roll the dice with whatever a particular installer has. Another thread here is sounding like Pilkington's are drying up... By correct tint, would you be referring to the "soft ray"? That's what my side and wing windows are. The windshield has been replace before (Ppg) and the rear is an aftermarket slider (were there any factory sliders?).

Re: OER Windshield from Summit Racing?
He means no shaded top. The entire windshield is the same tint, as the originals were. It will appear the same as Soft Ray... green.

It's really more of a grey tint, but if you hold a white cloth up behind it you can see the greenish hue. But no complaints!

Re: OER Windshield from Summit Racing?
Is the windshield marked with any manufacturer markings? Can you take a picture of the markings if it is? Thanks!

I am going with summit as well for my window. Not sure if the free shipping will apply on glass. Do you guys reuse your oem rubber or buy aftermarket?

I'm going with a new Precision seal. I think it would really depend on what shape your OEM seal is in. If your truck has always been garaged, I'm sure that reusing is possible. I think mine was reused when my original windshield was replaced, but that was a couple decades ago, and I won't consider doing so again. In fact, all the cab weatherstripping needs to be replaced, so Im ordering a full cab/door/window kit from GMC Paul's (all Precision made), and Ill use the seal from that kit for the windshield.
