Just a cab, that is fairly done. Needs body work, glass, interior, etc. Has functioning 4th door and roof line seems to retain the suburban "bubble". Rockers and rust prone areas look great. Just looking for opinions from the experts here that have built and or studied these cool custom built crewcabs. Thanks in advance for your opinions and feedback...

I'm not a fan of the suburban roof line but it looks pretty well done from these pics. The cab corner also have a mega cab look to them, they look longer than normal.

Looks like a good project cab.I agree that the roof is a little high for my taste but it would take several PU roofs to piece one together.I believe that one is a "build" rather than a Scott Built or other conversion because of the rear door shapes.Also the squared off window channels one the front doors.Looks like maybe built from a burb,thus the roof.

looks like the doors still need some work to line them up 100% and I'm not sure how that rear driprail area looks, but it has LOT of work completed already that you don't have to do...(especially the 4th door!) I'd buy it if the price were cheap enough...and it's def from a suburban with the back of a truck cab grafted in...

Looks pretty good Adam, but then primer has a way of doing that! What does the inside of the 4th door look like and the "B" pillar it hangs from? These areas should give a good feel for the overall workmanship.

looks like a good project...i would love to have a 4 door in our body style, i have seen a few that were put together, but yours looks like a really good build . from the pic's...good luck on the build....and post lots of pics....

Thanks for all the feedback guys...I definitely plan on making this a killer project! Have to figure out what to do frame wise, planning on a short fleet bed, 68 front clip, most likely a 402 or 396....and laid out....

Adam, Ran the numbers and it looks like a 157" 1 ton frame might be the best choice, especially with a big block. The '72 Dodge swb crew cabs sat on a 145" but your cab looks a little longer. Take a look at the drawing and the numbers should make sense. In the end with a cab in the stock location and a short bed (6.5) centered on the rear axle you would have 42" to play with. Maybe move the axle depending on where the cab finishes out or bob a long box at both ends (front to fit and rear down to short box over hang). As a note the Scotbuilt type four doors added 42" with full size doors.

157"wb +33.25" (bumper /front axle CL) =190.25"
190.25"-106.25" (BBC, bumper to back of cab) =84"
84"-42" (cab to center of rear axle) =42" over stock available for extended cab.
