My truck is an '87 V20.

It's between........

4WD YETI

GASASAUR

Any opinions?

Re: Vanity Plate Time

Beyond the Abominable Snowman, is there another common usage for the term "Yeti" that I'm not familiar with?

To me, a license plate with the name "Yeti" would belong on a white pickup, or better yet a white suburban.

Oh, maybe I had it all wrong. I thought Yeti/Big Foot/Sasquatch were all the same thing?

Re: Vanity Plate Time

If Yeti means something to you then put it on the plates. If I was behind you at a light I would wonder why the plates said Yeti though, it doesn't really seem to go with the vehicle to me - not bashing, just opinion. Its your money, do what you want!

I'm a more strait forward guy, so I'd go with something like "87 K20" or something.

Re: Vanity Plate Time

Nice V20, it's funny I just saw it's paint-twin on a local Craigslist.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5925603446.html

As for your vanity plate, does your state offer any special ones? In WA we have collegiate, wildlife, boating, all kinds of stuff. Maybe look into one of those and just get 1987 on it. "gasasaur" is 8 char., are you allowed 8? We're only allowed 7.

Re: Vanity Plate Time

"LAST 1" or "Last 20" for last year of this truck. I like the specialty tag with simply "1987", just like in brochures. Or "1987V20". From what I've seen 7 is the limit and if you do that you can't have a space in there. So, your first choice would have to be 4WDYETI.

Looks like that 2wd has the lighter grey. That black and gun metal is super sharp! How about "EIGHTY7"? I know mine are more boring. Just more suggestions

Re: Vanity Plate Time

First off .
Thats a super nice looking truck.

With that said. ......
Yeti seems to have taken on a new meaning with the popularity of the coolers and cups so that's what everyone thinks of when they see that word. I personally wouldn't put it on my truck unless I owned that company.

Re: Vanity Plate Time

Yes, mine is a darker gray. I got lucky and it also has a dark charcoal interior. But that 2wd looks like a pretty good deal!

We do get 8 characters around here.

My top choice was "FUELISH", but that was already taken. I will keep kicking this around.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions guys.

Re: Vanity Plate Time

Nice looking truck!!

When it came vanity plate time for me, I had a couple of ideas. It was only when I tried out the names online, most weren't available, already taken. So I would say, spend some time online trying several things, it maybe what's available that determines what you end up with.

Here's mine

Re: Vanity Plate Time

I just applied and eventually got denied this plate. SQRBDY. I am fighting with the RMV to have them stamp the plate. It's not clear to me why they won't accept it.

That's interesting. I was just thinking of requesting that one where I live. The website showed it as available but I wonder if they'd deny it too.

Re: Vanity Plate Time

I had heard IN wasn't going to allow them anymore, but I see them everyday. I didn't even look into it to see if I could even get one. I knew it'd be a battle just trying to get what I wanted.
So I searched forever for a '76 farm plate that wasn't rusted/beat to death. Finally got one. Indiana ONLY allows the bicentennial plate to be used as a YOM plate for '76. I knew that going in, but I still pleaded my case. Obviously they won. So I put the '76 plate on the front and got a NRA plate.

When I applied for mine is Sask they give you 3 choices then they get back to you and tell you what you can't use.

Most likely because they consider it offensive. Not that yours is, but the 'SQ' or 'SQR' is commonly used as shorthand for 'suck' or 'sucker/suck your'. They're likely reading it as 'suck your body' I've gone around with the DMV on this before.
