Graphic(NAKED) Suburban pics, lovers of no rust feel free to view...
Ok. Last year i bought a 1968 Chevy Suburban in Arizona. Not just any old burb.
But the only known 50th Suburban on the board. Might be another, but at this time i have not seen it. Unfortunatly the previous owner took it upon his self to primer the whole vehicle. Why you ask? The answer i got was to "preserve" it. Ok, whatever. What he did accomplish was to give it a "RATROD" look. Or as i like to call it, the I'M ROTTEN AND I AM JUNK LOOK. To each his own. Well i have had it for sale on the board here for a few months at least. And i also put it on Craigslist. NO success either place. Several times i have been asked WHATS UNDER THE PRIMER????? And i answer, NO RUST. Nobody wants to take your word for it. And i can't blame them. So i decided to do something about it. Here are the results. Now i will relist it, and see what i get. One before pic, several after pics. What do you think????

I agree. Clearcoat it. It'll look good and still prove your point.

For a second I thought I was looking @ Andy's Burb Why not just give it the paint job it deserves if it is rust free? Bring it back to it's original glory?

Be careful! Here in MN that would rust right before your eyes because of the moisture in the air.
A couple more hours with a grinder and a 3M "sandblaster" disk, a gallon of epoxy, a gallon of white and a gallon of anniversary gold and you should get a crapload for that truck in the rust belt. How much are you asking for it? Did you consider wetsanding the primer off and leaving the factory paint polished - other than what you already rubbed off?

He cleared it as soon as he sanded it guys don't worry. The paint was so thin under the primer wasn't any real way to save it. This particular burb set in the sun in Prescott Valley AZ for 30+ years...

That thing makes my newly reacquired 72 burb look like junk rust wise...nice. This is why I never look at the trucks for sale area...Way to tempting over there LOL.

Here is Mikes for sale ad on the board... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...t=3882&cat=all If there isn't anything to compare it to I don't know how a person could come up with the value of it in restored condition... LockDoc

It looks crazy all sanded. Yes i sprayed it heavy with clear.
Took several coats of heavy aircraft stripper to remove the black primer. And still lots of sanding. Hopefully it will attract a buyer.
