Steiner NEVER ending build by Bomp

Long time lurker/had a thread/pbucket fiasco/took a break/time to start again. (Removed original thread due to pbucket fiasco/needed a break to rethink build)
Started building Steiner (5" stretch cab truck) in April 2011.
A brief introduction on Steiner progress / not progress.

'66 pickup bought in 2011, Long bed C20, V8

Frame built, rolling chassis, cab stretched 5", dash pulled back 3", bed shortened, Stake pockets filled, door skins made and remade, flip forward part of the project underway. And a bazillion other things not mentioned.

Currently not liking the front suspension. With motor fitment issues/ steering working but very unuser friendly. Someone planted the idea of using a big block instead of small. List goes on and on. So today I chopped off the front end of the frame to redo and get back on the build.

Firewall wasn't meeting up to what was envisioned either so after getting near all the Honey-Do's finished, helping my dad clean up his yard (60+ cars)
Its time to get back on Steiner.

It's good to see you back at it. I've been getting some stuff done on Sanity and I'm hoping we can meet up sometime when they're both running.

Re: Steiner NEVER ending build by Bomp

Thanks for checking in but sorry to say nothing has happened to Steiner. Did dig out the rotisserie to mount Steiner's cab to twirl it like a ferris wheel.

The Wifey is getting her home office done. (Me doing sheet rock(done)/wiring(done)/new flooring(almost done)/ceiling fan(done).
Also installed 2 security Ring Door Bells and a Flood light/camera at the shop. ~pic shows view~ ~~ A glimps into Bomp Land~~
Built a bigger A frame for lifting frames, beds, other necessary truck stuff.
If Im not doing that Im helping clean up my dads property. Removed 26+ cars & trucks, I've hauled 5 trailer loads, 8 pickup loads out, he's hauled 8+ loads. Broke down more tires/wheels than I can count.
(Helping him clean up is not an easy task by any means)
Put a new carb on the Orange '72
While all that is going on I work swing shift with the usual 12 days here and there with last Saturday was mandatory.
Me (bottom left) working on the '65 GMC,
Then theres the "C10 Trucks/Chevy parts buy, sell in Bomps Group" on FB. Keeps me active in the Interweb Land.
In April is the Portland PIR Swapmeet (at the track) Booth 1140 I'll be at for a couple of days.
Busy? Me?? On the higher end of third waiting to grab 4th.
Thanks for looking in.

Re: Steiner NEVER ending build by Bomp

You know how it goes, get some truck time, you pull out the drawer in your roll-a-round to grab a wrench, LIFE steps in and POOF truck time all gone.
A bit pre-history.
My dad is a hoarder. County got after him for the 3rd time so me being the loyal son that I am I've been busy.
All vehicles pictured have found new homes. 28 cars/trucks total
12+ pickup box loads hauled off to scrap
1 Emergency call to bring spare due to tire blow out on scrap run (my super hero moment to save dad in a panic state)
7 car trailer loads I hauled out personally
11 pickup truck loads me, dad 17
Lost count on how many mornings I arrived, worked 3-7 hours before going to my real job (swing shift 3-11) sometimes 3pm-3am
broke down 47 wheels and tires. 60+ to go(staged at my place Coats 10/10)
pics before/after clean up
Things being cleaned up an all Im thinkin' truck time may be once again.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Re: Steiner NEVER ending build by Bomp

Glad to see that you are going to continue this build. Sorry to hear that Botophucket caused such a disaster for your previous thread. I had really enjoyed it and look forward to your new lease on the project. And your dad's newly cleared acreage. Y'all better plant corn in there or something or it will fill back up again. Ask how I know

Re: Steiner NEVER ending build by Bomp

I'm here.
Been blocking incoming distractions like Wonder Woman deflects incoming bullets.
Some truck time has begun. Not the truck time I'd like but I'll take it.
Tore down the 250 Inline 6 to see what the po did incorrectly. As you can see there is a small block & Big Block waiting to join in the fun.
Things were a bit cramped to begin with but this is getting ridiculous.
Have the next 2 weeks off hope to get things organized to get a jump on Steiner. PIR swap meet April 3-6(main reason for 2 weeks off).
My Wifey looked at the pic and said in a disgust voice...."look at all that junk" thinking this is someone else's shop. My reply..."look at all the cool toys".
Later Fellas
