New front end for a 62

I'm looking for advice on the best way to convert the front suspension on my 62 from torsion bars to coils. Best meaning simplest, best handling, a bolt on application but not necessarily the cheapest.

Re: New front end for a 62

You can do what I just did and pull a front cross member off a '72 or equivalent year c-10 and bolt it up to your frame. Its not a direct bolt in by any means but its not hard to do and you get coil springs and 5 lug.

everything I used off a '72 are: front crossmember, upper and lower control arms, spindles, brakes, inner and outer tierod ends.
I was able to use the '62 front motor mount for the straight 6, manual steering box with pitman arm, center link (relay rod) and idler arm.

You have to redrill a couple holes in the frame to bolt the crossmember up but I think you use one or two original holes so you can use them as a reference.

You need a complete front suspension from a '71-'87 C10 pickup, C10 Suburban, or 2wd Blazer

Here's a thread that details how to do it with stock parts:

And here's another thread on engine and transmission mounting:
