Re: How far did you go?

When I bought the 70, it wasn't far...maybe 15 miles. The 69 beast I towed about 130ish miles home.

Re: How far did you go?

My first two were within 5 miles. One drove home (really shouldn't have though) the other needed a rope.
The longhorn was 430 miles away... and longhorn jeff drove that far to pick me up, then on to get the truck...and then back again. That one was 50 oe so miles east of philly PA
Then, I went 300 miles to Kalamazoo MI to get a parts truck.

Re: How far did you go?

man you guys are driving a pretty good distance sometimes. I thought about trying to go to AZ to get a cab or something. That would be almost a week long trip for me. But, I can find most everthing I need around here. Just might need a little work.

Re: How far did you go?

250 miles....a couple of times.....went to look at it, agreed to buy....sunday....no cash.....drove back the next week, had my girlfriend drive my car home, while I drove the truck home (didn't seem right to try to tow the truck home behind a station-wagon....not sure the 4t40 would have held up anyway).
Been driving it for over 3,000 miles now......still no major repairs.....still working on major upgrades though!

Re: How far did you go?

I went from North of Salt Lake to Phoenix-maybe 800 miles or so-to get my Panel. Trailered it back, but my fuel pump went out on my truck with 250 miles or so to get home. I had to call my friend out on a rescue mission. We put my truck on the trailer and he drug that home and I drove the Panel the rest of the way.

Re: How far did you go?

The '68 c10 was about 10 miles. The '71 c20 was about 180, whan the wife and I took a little getaway weekend away from the kids, and I saw it in the parking lot of a drug store with a for sale sign, $5K later was the most I ever lost in Tahoe. Not a complaint whatsoever.

Re: How far did you go?

when I bought the 72 longwide, was about a ten mile drive home in January, no heater, all vents stuck wide open, maybe ten degrees outside, felt like it would fly off the road at 45 mph, coldest drive I have ever had

67 stepside about 5 miles & had a tow truck deliver it, the 72 shortwide, bout 20 miles & trailered it

70 Camaro, maybe 300 miles, bought it sight unseen and then sent a guy with a trailer to bring it home

Well, I maybe didn't drive all the way .
I was actually driving for a longer distance when I looked at a 60 50th in Denmark that I didn't buy, 435 miles one way, OK 435 miles driving + 30 minutes on a boat to get there.
