Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
I will soon be reproducing my own tachometer harnesses for 1967 - 1972 Chevy / GMC pick-ups for all of you that are adding a tach cluster to your pick up.
These harnesses will be as factory correct as possible with the exception of the rubber grommet. The grommet will be the correct size for the pass through hole but not the same style. They will be the same gauge wire as the original harness. I will soon be posting photos of my harness. I am trying to get an idea of how many people would be interested so I can place an order for parts. I don't have an exact price but they will be under $30.00 shipped Thank you, Tom

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
Sounds like a good price. Are they for HEI or coil? Would the wires be the correct color also?

This was what I was referring to and I also wanted to let you know because you answered as if you did not know they were out there. My intentions were to purely be helpful and I would support any board member other than a multi million dollar company any day ( kaphillips) PT

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
You do know that these are being reproduced by several companies and one being American Autowire. You can get them in HEI or stock points style and they are factory correct down to the color of the wires. Just trying to let you know before you invested to much thinking that they were not out there.

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
Yes several companies do make them. However, I would rather buy from a board member if they are correct quality repops than some company I don't known.

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
PT was addressing the vendor. He wasn't telling people who to buy from. I think he's saying the harnesses are already available in "correct quality" from companies we know,

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
I appreciate the feed back from everyone. Trust me, I am not going to put American Auto Wire out of business I have the ability to create a "very high quality" tachometer harness for these trucks for a competitive price. I can assure that my harnesses will be well made and all crimp joints will also be soldered.
My main idea behind making these was to offer them along with one of my restored tach clusters. After all the materials are paid for and to be competitive, I will put about $7.50 per harness in my pocket for my time. I know there are several well known companies that sell these tach harnesses. It is your choice who you buy one from. Stay tuned... Thank you, Tom

I would be interested in seeing a pic and knowing pricing when you get to that point.

Re: Gauging Interest in new tach harnesses
OK, guys and gals, Another fine quality product from Classic Gauge and Cluster.
I have finally got everything together to put these together for an HEI. I will have the terminal ends for the point style soon. I am not 100% sure about the exact factory color. These first ones are going to be pink and brown. I also have red wire but have not built any with the red yet. The harnesses have the correct length of wire, the correct grommet and the correct connectors. The terminals have all been crimped and soldered. If you would like a specific wire length, let me know. I am asking $25.00 shipped for these. I have enough parts to sell 6 currently. If it goes well, I will order more of the parts to build more. Thanks for looking, Tom
