Swapped to a 20 gallon tank
I swapped out my 16 galln tank for a 20 gallon tank. My problem is finding a filler hose to work since I had to take out the piping since the 20 gal is longer. Anyone know where I can get one.

Re: Swapped to a 20 galln tank
Yo! I junkyard shopped and had my choice of filler necks!
Even matched up one that would allow the cap to tighten up close to the new flush cut hole in the fender, as opposed to the factory one that resides at the bottom of a recessed hole (and the cap protrudes a bit more). Todd.

Re: Swapped to a 20 galln tank
Filler hose or filler neck? Incidentally, I just ordered a filler hose from the dealer today, and stopped by my friend's garage and he had a couple of old filler necks. Got the passenger side for $5.
The filler neck I have has something wrong with the lip that secures the cap...you twist the cap all the way on, it slips and wobbles around loose as a goose. Gotta turn it just right to get it to stick, and even then it might not hold. Real pain. Last edited by D-Day; 12-03-2008 at 06:02 AM. |

Re: Swapped to a 20 galln tank
You need it for the driver or passenger side? I bought the passenger side, but my neighbor still has the driver side filler neck. If you're interested, I could take a picture of it and put you in contact with him.
edit: I read that wrong. Confirm, do you need a rubber or metal piece? This would help. If it's rubber, you can order one from the local dealer. Last edited by D-Day; 12-03-2008 at 10:35 AM. |

Re: Swapped to a 20 galln tank
Yo! If you need to know the name of parts, I've found LMC Truck to be a great source through the diagrams in their catalogs,...lmctruck.com. Their printed catalog has great "blown up" diagrams of most systems!
The diagrams really help you to know what is there before you start a project, help with disassembly, and make it easier to find the parts you need by appearance and name. Not as good as a shop manual, but alot cheaper too! FREE. That'll show you the filler neck with vent tube, the rubber filler neck and vent hoses, and the tank and cap. Those are the parts you're asking about. Todd.
