Exclamation FREE 1970 SB/SS Frame and Cab in New England

OK, this is the last chance, because this thing needs to be gone. I'm probably going to junk it next week if I can't get anyone to come and get it.

First the bait: I'm offering the cab and rolling frame of a 1970 shortbed stepside for FREE to anyone willing to come and get it. The truck is entirely apart, and the cab is mounted nose-down on a wheeled dolly. The cab has support rods welded in and much of the floor cut away. It was going to be my practice field for welding, but I have too many other projects in the air, so this has got to go.

The frame has the suspension attached and 6-lug wheels/tires. One of the rear brakes is frozen, but other than that it rolls. Body mounts need to be fixed, but other than that it's in good shape.

So, that covers the FREE portion. Aside from that, there are plenty of parts that I plan to sell. BUT I will only start parting it out after the cab and frame are gone.

Here's where I sweeten the pot: whoever comes and gets the cab and frame gets preferential pricing on whatever other parts they might want. For instance, I'm offering the following for $400/bo:
- Frame and cab (plus sheetmetal to fix cab)
- Bed and tailgate
- 2 hoods
- left/right fender
- radiator mount
- 250L6 engine and 3spd manual trans
- miscellaneous linkages, bracketry, etc that came off this truck

Someone gimme a hand here, I'm trying to keep from junking something someone else could use.

Located in Rhode Island.

Free Stuff

What's the drive time from central VT?
If I came over with a short bed pickup pulling a 16ft car trailer could I fit most of it on?
What year frame and cab?
Feel free to send any further info to my e-mail.

The frame/cab are from a 1970 C10 Shortbed Stepside.

Mapquest gives me about 235 miles from Montpelier, VT to Cranston, RI (where the truck is), with a route that comes I89->I93->I95. Mapquest estimates the drive time at just under 4 hours.

"shortbed and a 16-ft trailer"
If you mean the $400 package listed above, I think we could fit everthing except maybe the engine and trans. If the trailer has a solid floor, then we could definitely get the engine/trans on it as well.
The trick would be getting the cab into the back of the truck, because my hoist won't lift it that high. We'd probably have to ramp it.
